I'm the opposite. I think he generates the heat because he has such a thin skin he attacks anyone who says anything remotely negative about him. I've never seen anyone so sensitive, particularly someone who was head of a successful company and of course now the President.

Maybe those vets, some of who served with Kerry were unhappy about the fact that when he returned, after receiving a token medal for a flesh wound, he spent his time calling them baby killers and exaggerating his role in Vietnam. Do you have a source showing where Kerry called a Vietnam vet a "baby killer".

He wasn't the second coming of Audie Murphy. He wasn't the only person to embellish his combat experience. After leaving the US Navy, he criticized the US policy in Vietnam. None of this makes him unique.

At any rate, an admin clerk pushing papers at an airbase in N Dakota during the Vietnam War spent more time in the military than Trump. It's ironic, to say the least , for Trump to criticize the military service of others like Kerry and McCain.

Kerry testified before the Senate that U.S. soldiers routinely committed war crimes and other atrocities . His basis for the testimony was information he received from the Winter Soldier movement. Many of the claims by Winter Soldiers were later found to be fraudulent. Perhaps that's why many vets dislike Kerry.

Did he say "Our troops are baby killers"?

He testified about free fire zones and killing prisoners. He pointed out the problems faced by veterans. I can't find a source showing that he called anyone a "baby killer".

They might dislike him but there seems like a lot of animosity, bordering on hatred, towards someone who served. Then, Trump comes along, did whatever he could to avoid going to war, and the same people say they like him because he supports the military.


The truth is that it really has nothing to do with serving or not serving, it has to do with one being a Democrat and the other a Republican.


It's another example of people who say they have strong views suddenly finding flexibility, as long as their side wins. It's getting harder and harder to distinguish what people really believe in.

I love Trump because I hated Obama so much. Maybe it was because he was black or maybe it was because he wasn't a Republican and possibly a muslim. Anyways, I love Trump. I love how Trump says stuff that would probably have gotten Obama impeached. If Obama had said 1/10 of the stuff Trump has said, the GOP and probably many Democrats on the right would have called for Obama's impeachment. Trump is a shit storm.
