Best friend is a special agent in the SS. 1st off, you'll generally never see SS agents in suits like that unless they're in protective detail - the average SS agent just wears normal clothes as the large focus of the SS is money related crimes.
Going through dumpsters isn't off limits though - garbage is public domain unfortunately, so going through trash that's outside in plain sight is allowed. They're generally not going to alert someone to going through trash as they're usually looking for evidence of a financial crime.
So they've been back twice now.
They are not going thru trash from our dumpster. They are picking up trash at one location, bringing it to our dumpster, going thru it behind our building and then hauling it away. The original two came back once and today a new team arrived, this time with their own dump truck in waiting. Dump truck hauls the trash to our location, they go thru it, the dump truck empties everything from our dumpster and they drive off.
We rent the dumpster. It is not owned by the city but we rent it from a private garbage collection company.
As for the challenge coins, you generally don't get "2-3" just for saying hi - they're usually earned or given for a reason, and usually not in multiples.
I have no idea what they were. I'll see if I can get a picture of one as we gave one to an intern and I have no idea where the others went. I think we got three in total. Not sure if they are "Challenge coins" or not. I'm not even sure they are really SS...just that a guy with a SS badge and a gun was going thru garbage with blue gloves in our dumpster...three time now :-)
