I usually cannot get the spokeshave going that good. That is about perfection.

Elevated garden beds. Was trying to mitre the corners but decided to simplify things and just use plain old butt joints. Not as pretty but entirely functional.

I'm a big fan of Japanese design and craftsmanship; it's amazing what some can do with a hand plane...

i love a good quality stripper.
i know Conan/Arnold's answer to 'what is best in life?' and i'd not disagree with his response, but a good close second has to be a quality wood working hand tool set up and functioning properly.

I'm not into strippers at all. I'm actually disgusted by them.

Well as someone who does a ton of hand joinery, I doff my cap for doing joinery in the most difficult way possible.
But you do have a nice setup going there.

I have a #78, as "new" as it is, it's a family heirloom. Who needs a router for rabbets?

Very cool. You still have the fence and depth stop? Those are last from most originals.
I have some modem versions of that plane, but if I need a quick rabbet will use a two pass on a table saw (no dado stack)

Yes, all the pieces are still there. I am only the second family member to "own" the #78 plane. It was passed directly from my GF to me.
