Wanting your input.
I have had two separate procedures for 1) disc rupture resulting in laminectomy at S1, L5. Was able to do almost everything for 14 years. Last summer I had severe stenosis. Had laminectomy at L5,L4 and L4,L3. Now I have severe osteoarthritis at L5,L4 and L4,L3. Doctor is recommending fusion. Pain is level 2 most of the time; if I try and run it elevates to a 9/10. Throughout the day I have "zingers" down my legs that last for less than a second, but are quite painful.
I want to avoid surgery if possible.
Anyone have luck with other options? If so, what worked?
Anyone have success after fusion? What can I expect in swimming, running and biking?
Thanks, Richard
