Let's see him do it without drafting for 600 miles.

All I can say is he is DAMN lucky Duffy wasn't behind him in that traffic....
but seriously, assuming you're affiliated? i'm not understanding teh thought process of tying up that lane of (what looked like) very heavy traffic so he could run in the road, occupying the lane. i really don't want to beat the dead horse of Duffy's thread but i'm curious why that option was decided upon.

You clearly do not know the area or the context of this event.

I don't believe you're from around these parts, so your points are invalid. Good day, sir.

From casual observation I'm thinking not many NASCAR fans choose to emulate their favorite
drivers.

there's definitely opportunity in our world, that's for sure. on a positive note though, i've had a lot of people share with me their stories of inspiration in the past year, and actually had more than one fans with 100+ weight loss success stories. sometimes that stuff is more motivating than my own training.
Thanks for posting this btw, NCAA, I'm a regular on this forum. just don't chime in too often. maybe i should do it more though :)

Your belief is incorrect, ergo your point is invalid. Godspeed, person.

It's very slowtwitchy.

OMG I KNOW! It is CRAZY making, isn't it? I guess i've been in that thread too much because ALL i could think while watching him run (actually when he came out in the shorts and t-shirt i thought, wow! race car attire really has changed, but then he started to run and my brain said, "ah! makes sense. carry on..." but I digress...) was looking at the flashing lights in the back and Oh So Happy he had that SAG vehicle and then, "well, he needs the car to light the way as it is nighttime" and then "geez, that is a LOT of traffic. I wonder WHY he picked that route?" and then, obviously, That Thread.
so now you've had the frightening peek into my thought process (have you come out unscathed?)

Wow, welcome Landon. There are NASCAR fans on Slowtwitch, at least one anyway. I don't think most people realize how incredibly grueling it is to drive any NASCAR race, let alone the Charlotte 600. To do a 14 mile run afterwards. That's impressive. Good luck at Dover.

Landon,
Got any triathlons planned in the near future?

ETA: Sorry about the user name, but I've been a Gordon fan since 1994.
Pink? Maybe. Maybe not. You decide.

yep, I'm doing Mont Tremblant 70.3 next month in hopes to snag a slot for Austria...by the way my training looked this week (we just had a baby), I might be hoping for a roll down lol.

Good luck in your race!! I'll be at Raleigh 70.3 on Sunday, but there's no chance I'll be grabbing a slot!
Pink? Maybe. Maybe not. You decide.

After racing against Landon in a little sprint tri a few weeks ago I am now a bit of Nascar fan too (i.e. I'll see how he finished in races). It is interesting to see your competitors' alter egos.
I know nothing about car racing but I imagine being able to concentrate for an extended period of time is necessary for success. This ability should be a big advantage for him in longer distance triathlon, especially if he ever goes iron distance or beyond.

I'm fairly ignorant w/ regard to the NASCAR culture, but how's the raw vegan diet play out with the other driver? It never worked out for me, but it seems to be working for you. Awesome, man.
