To begin, a couple of shots coming right off the helix out of T1. First thing I notice that separates him from the masses is that his helmet is on straight and his sunglasses aren't smudged. The shorts are low, but tastefully, there's no butt crack visible. The man is ready for some camera time.
Here he his 50 yards out of T2. Looking pretty good (as though he's composing his next forum post).
Here he is at mile 11. His accent is beginning to fail and his shorts are riding lower. Look at those quads. I'm cramping just thinking about it. This guy is tough.
And, just for giggles, here's Ute at mile 2.x. She had a pretty good race herself.
In contrast, here's one of my favorite racers ... Dave Harju. The left is of him at mile 15 last year. There was never any question that he'd win last year. This year (on the right), he's flying out of T2 in third and doesn't look the least bit happy about it. Like most folks, the zipper on his singlet just kept getting lower all day.
And, before too many more people chastise the Bjorn for his riding style, let's just remember that the lad finished a pretty grueling race just a few weeks ago back in the old country. Congrats to all of Sunday's finishers.
