I figure I am going to be in the minority here, but despite the general acceptance of the notion that diet effects performance, I have never found it to be true for me...
I have made some attempts to modifiy my diet and to eat "healthy" over the last 25 years but never felt any difference or performed better so I abandoned any concern and I just eat what I want. This includes some junk food and high fat food. I have found the key is just not to eat to much.
I HAVE found that lighter is faster for me and therefore I control my calorie intake...I rarely eat "alot"...
I have had my metobolic rate tested and at the time of testing I burned 500 less calories a day less than what was average for my age/gender but today I am 5' 10 " and weigh 171 lbs which is less than I did in high school 33 years ago...
I dont like eating "healthy" because it doesnt taste good....when I eat reasonable amounts of "unhealthy" food that I really like (because it tastes good) I feel more satisfied and dont feel the need to over eat....
...so keep the doughnuts, cookies, peanut butter, ice cream, McDonalds, and cheetoes coming...it taste great and I stay at a good weight....
anyone else come to these conclusions?...thoughts?
