How a President handles an interview
This is how it is done.

WASHINGTON — President Trump cut short an interview with the host of “Face the Nation” on CBS after being asked about his unsubstantiated claim that President Barack Obama wiretapped his campaign, saying he was entitled to his own “opinions.”

Mr. Trump, speaking during a prerecorded interview in the Oval Office with John Dickerson that was broadcast on Monday on “CBS This Morning,” grew agitated as the host pressed him on a number of issues, and he reached his breaking point when Mr. Dickerson asked about his bombshell Twitter post from early March describing Mr. Obama as a “sick” man.

“You don’t have to ask me,” the president said, cutting off Mr. Dickerson in midsentence.

“Why not?” the host asked.

“Because I have my own opinions. You can have your own opinions,” Mr. Trump shot back.

With that, Mr. Trump terminated what had been an otherwise genial interview.

“O.K., it’s enough,” the president said.

i think of dickerson as one of the most thoughtful, reasonable, genial guys in the political press, and it seems like he goes well out of his way to be non-partisan. if you can't get along with him, maybe the problem's with you . . .

The problem has never been with Trump. Ever.

Why doesn't America just accept that and stop fighting the inevitable yuge brilliance he's to bring us despite his special rules of decorum?

Is this the same interview where he claimed Andrew Jackson was really angry about the Civil War?

Notwithstanding he had been dead for over a decade by the time it broke out.

Can't argue with that. This guy failed his way to the White House. That's a pretty striking testament to the quality of that logic.

The quote "Success has been defined as the ability to go from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm." is typically attributed to Winston Churchill, though there is no evidence he actually wrote or said it.

This is pretty typical of his assertions prior to Versailles... and after Versailles. Either way, classic Churchill.

He's still saying that Mexico will pay for the wall. You know the one he already tried and failed to get US taxpayers to pay for....

Quote:
"Can you hear that, John?" The president asked. "Believe me, that's what they want."
"Do you think they care about how it's paid for?" Dickerson asked.
"Oh, Mexico is going to pay," the president replied.
Dickerson followed up, "A hundred percent – the whole thing?"
"A hundred percent," the president replied. "They're going to be happy with it. They'll be very happy to pay."

I don't so much mind him shutting down the interview.

I did find it ... funny? odd?? that Trump said that "everyone saw what happened with the surveillance" and that "we proved our case very strongly" (paraphrased). Not quite sure what he's getting at there, since everything I've heard and read (from the fake media of course) has been the opposite.

The interviews are Trump laid bare - incoherent, lying, blustering, bloviating, blundering along. He rarely seems to make any sense, and even will contradict himself in the same interview!

Unfortunately, they will do little to change people's positions. Those opposing Trump will point out the obvious ( he's completely out of his depth and incompetent) and Trump Supporters, will not listen to this sort of thing because few have the attention span to listen through this, and strangely they don't see the bluster, the blunder, the bloviating, the lying and the dishonesty - bizarrely, they see . . " a straight-shooter" . . "my kind of president" . . I don't know how they see that, given what is on display completely unfiltered, but that's what they see!

"He loses. He calls it a victory. He moves on."

Indeed - in Trumps upside down world, this seems to be the case.

According to Trump and his closest associates - this was the best opening 100 days ever by a President! But by almost ever measure, these first 100 days have been mediocre at best, and an abject failure at their worst - and the latter is using and applying Trump's own yardsticks here. He was the one that said so much would be happening in the first 100 days. There would be, "so much winning"!

And 100+ days in - he's STILL talking about the election! When does he move on from that?

LOL I saw that already. I haven't had the test yet. I'm curious to see how many US born folks would pass it actually (the same way, when reading comments on French news, I'm curious to see how many French born folks would pass a basic civics test).

At least, now we have 9 justices, so I won't have to think too much about what to answer, since it's one among the 100 possible questions.

When you take it it's actually not multiple choice so mildly more difficult. You have to get 6/10.

However, I did learn that James Madison wrote the Federalist Papers, so I've got that going for me...

Many of the questions are really really easy out of the 100 and you only need to answer 6 out of 10.
I am not sure he can answer all 100 correctly though.

List:

https://www.uscis.gov/...udio-english-version

I'm pretty sure most folks would fail questions like: how many house reps, who wrote the federalist papers, when was the constitution written, who wrote it, how many years do we elect senators, house reps, who was president during WWI and who was during WWII. Just a guess though.

when i took test and interview i was pretty confident.....then i walked into the waiting room and everyone else was still reading the questions and answers and practicing with whoever they were with. Maybe i wasn't taking the challenge as seriously as i should have been.

but when you think about it, 6/10 means anyone who scores more than half passes. the interviewer just asked me questions - not randomly generated or anything - so a bit of a bias towards the more common knowledge type stuff and little chance of being asked the 10 least known things in the book. Having said that - it is a knowledge test with defined borders. i would hope most people could memorize the answers to 100 questions with a few hours prep.
