I just got the QRbox for my IA16. Maybe if the QR bentobox fits, the IA will be finally finished.

I love my 2016 PRsix. It already has a mount on the top tube for the bento box. Are they just now offering their own (rather than 3rd party)?

I hope they came up with a better mounting mechanism for the Qbox. It only took a minor bump against my thigh to knock it off.

The orange scheme would definitely stand out in transition!

This is a well thought out bike more people should be talking about.

No nonsense. Easy to wrench. Plenty of storage options, bottle bosses, etc. Slap on a Zipp Vuka or Enve bar and done.

A lightsaber for rebel scum drafters would fit in that bento I'm sure. Easy add on.

Guess I'll be the first to ask if anybody knows if the new bento box will be available separately to put on a previous year's PR6. I guess if QR happens to be watching this thread. . .

I just called Quintanna Roo. The 2017 PR6 has a new stem. The bento box only works with that stem. They will be offering an upgrade kit in the future that will allow you to put the new stem and bento on the older PR6.

No price or timeline information available.

Yeah, like that one-off(ish) version a few pros are riding. Lower stack and slot to hold the di2 A-junction.

Just a question dude. Calm down. I already have a P4.

I've just resigned to thinking I'll have to fabricate my own bracket to extend the reach if I ever decide to upgrade to a newer bike. Or wait for Canyon.

No big deal. I do have my thoughts on how we arrived at the current geo of bikes, but this is not the place for that discuss as you point out.

All good, I don't mind the discussion, its just that every single new bike that ever comes out ends up being compared to the P4.... :)

That's because the only thing wrong with the P4 is the rear brake and lack of trash can :)

It was so good that they stopped making it, and no other manufacturer has bothered to copy the geo.... ;)

It will be interesting to see how you access the bento's cargo. That seems to be a deal killer with many of the plastic/rubber bentos.

But you know what is even more crazy? That PRsix bento looks like one of our universal fit Speedpack 480 bentos. Which is fine, as they are quite aero, and fit many many bikes on the market. What is odd to me is that if they took the time and resources to make a custom bento for a specific bike, they really could have done much much more with the storage.

For the price, I don't understand why the PRsix isn't more popular than it is. If my old P3c ever bites the dust, this would be at or near the top of my list.

I'll tell you why. It's because the truth is, its really no more 'exciting' a bike than a Cervelo P2.

Just my .02.

I think it is a bit "sexier" than a p2 just with the colors. But if I could build a bike from ground up I would probably go with a P3 with Di2, fast aerobars and call it a day. But I do like all the integration of stuff with the PR6. The draft box is nice.

Out of curiosity, whem/why did manufacturers decide they don't want to sell framesets anymore? $500 for a set of decent training wheels, a carbon cockpit, a $150 saddle, oh and an unused Ultegra group seems like a no brainer. I can't really imagine a situation where spending the extra $500 isn't worth it except if you live in a tiny house (even then, maybe).

I would think if I were a manufacturer, I would prefer to sell framesets over complete bikes, but I must be missing something here. Help?

I saw yesterday online that a few f the pros at IMTX today will be rocking a new front end bento box. The new one zips closed (can zip from either end) but not sure what the material was.

I am also in the "Id like to be lower" camp but overall I love the bike. Got a good price, feel very comfortable, clean and very versatile.

Anyone have an idea of how the stem works? Like how are the wires, etc routed? Considering picking up one of these but it's a no-go if this must-use stem is going to leave cables sloppily exposed.

Did anyone find anything comparing the Felt IA4 or DA to the 2017 PRsix?? I had a Felt DA. I'm currently riding a Felt IA4. I just purchased the PR6 Di2 Race. It's in a box about to be built. It was such a good deal I couldn't turn it down. I do need to sell a bike though! If anyone has any comparison data I would love to see it, hoping it reads the way I want it to of course!

In the original pr6 white paper, you can see see the pr6 is about 1/3 of the way between a shiv and p5-six.

Overlay that with the felt ia data, and the original pr6 is probably about 60-70g slower at 0 degrees.

I'm gonna disagree with this as you can't really mix and match data from different tests. Too many differences between the tests and how they are run. You can end up with vastly different numbers depending on which tests you choose. For example, Felt found the IA to be ~75g faster then the DA at zero yaw (run at 30mph). I believe the estimate is that 50g of drag = 5w, so this would give us 7.5 watts. Quintana Roo ran found that PRsix was ~20 watts faster than the DA at zero yaw (run at 22mph). So if we overlayed this then the PRsix would be faster. Of course the problem with my example is the tests were run at different speeds so there is probably some more calculations that would have to be done. But the point is, you really can't mix and match tests.

Anyway, to the poster that asked about the PRsix vs IA. IMHO, the bikes are close enough in terms of aerodynamics that it may be more important to weight the other benefits and drawbacks of each bike. Especially if the bike could put you as a rider in a more aerodynamic position. That said, it would have been nice if QR would have run their tests with the IA instead of the DA (assuming the IA was out at the time...not sure the time table of tests and bike releases)
