Does anyone know if its permissible to access the swim area at Deerhurst prior to the Muskoka Ironman week, like in early August? I recall training at Tremblant was an issue to access the beach if you weren't staying at the resort at the time. We are planning an early August recon of the race routes including a swim if we can get to the water. We are staying at a local B&B close to the venue but not at Deerhurst itself for the recon or during race week. Is there a public access area to Penninsula Lake if we can't get in at Deerhurst?

I was wondering the same thing. A group of us are heading up in early June and would like to swim prior to riding the bike course. I remember a small park just down the road from Deerhurst, closer to Hidden Valley. You can access the lake from there but not sure if you can park your car for the day while out riding. Would be nice to just get on the bikes after the swim and not to have to move the cars.
I think there is a public beach off Hwy 60 on the east end of the lake so I assume there is parking but failing that its a short jog up Browns Rd from where we're staying and we'll just jump in at the bridge and swim out from there.
