"Massive Head Wound Harry" - skit where Dana Carvey shows up at a formal dinner party with a large piece of his scalp missing, grossing out the other guests. At one point he complains of being tired from all the blood loss and lies down on the white sofa, getting blood stains all over it. The kicker is when a dog comes on stage and starts licking the huge head wound (they obviously put dog food or meat in it) but then starts eating it and trying to pull it away. Dana Carvey is trying to keep the dog from pulling the wig with the wound off and says "He must smell my dog!" The camera cuts to Kevin Nealon, Phil Hartman and guest host Kirstie Alley, all who are trying their hardest not to laugh when finally Hartman just loses it and walks off.

I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard the first time I saw it, have seen it a few other times and it is still just as funny.

There is an old one where Rosanna Anna Danna is on the news and talking about boogers that just cracks me up.

And, Eddie Murphy "Kill My Landlord".

Land Shark is a classic as are the Coneheads.

Can you tell I like the old stuff?

Also, the whole norm mcdonald as bob dole on the real world. And the great phil hartman as the unfrozen caveman lawyer. Jepardy, with will ferrell as alex trebeck. Are a few that I remember.

There were some now obscure marty short segments in interviews as a crooked kid's toy manufacturer...an extension of Dan Ackroyd's from years earlier, but Short was actually a ton funnier. He was about the only thing good about that era.

Halfwits..recreated perhaps using a different name on SNL, but done originally in SCTV.

Among some of the new stuff, anything Sofa King!

I think Tina Fey ranks among modern comic geniuses Mike Meyers, Steve Martin, Robin Williams, and Martin Short ...truly brilliant people. (I put John Candy in there too, I'm sure if he lived longer, today more people would agree with me).

I'm eager to see what Tina Fey does beyond 30Rock.

Mostly old ones, I have some Dan Akroyd and Eddi Murphy compilations. Most of the good ones have been listed here but my fave's that I can watch over and over and still laugh (in no particular order)

  1. Any of the Dan A. interviews where he's representing his toy company, Mainway Toys I believe. Toys such as bag-o-glass, Johnny Switchblade and costumes like the human tourch (bag of oily rags and a lighter).
  2. The Eddie Murphy Mr. Robinson skits.
  3. There was a skit on with Tom Hanks and a castmember that were standing on a street corner trying to pick up girls as they went by. Everyone shot them down and they just kept ripping on themselves, Tom Hanks said "my head is just tooooo darn big".
  4. Jeopardy with Sean Connery acting like an ass.
  5. The Eddie Murphy one where he's James Brown with the celebrity hot tub party.
  6. Alex Baldwin's Schwetty Balls skit.
  7. Chris Farley as Matt Foley, living in a van down by the river.
  8. Bass o Matic.
  9. The Steve Martin Christmas speech where he's sitting in a chair listing his wishes that start out with peace on earth and end up with him receiving all encompasing power over every living being, or something like that.
  10. Most of the coneheads, especially the halloween one where they are busted giving out fried eggs and beer.
For me, I think the older stuff for the most part blows away the new stuff.

Hahaha forgot about that one, the other superheroes complain about him stinking up the bathroom.

Best commercial spoof they ever did was the Canon camera commercial with Stevie Wonder and Joe Piscopo as Aussie tennis star John Newcombe.

Dan Aykroyd as Irwin Mainway--was interviewed by Candace Bergen, who played a consumer reporter. My favorite Mainway product was the Halloween costume "Johnny Invisible Pedestrian."

But the best Dan Aykroyd was as Jimmy Carter on "Ask President Carter."

Shame on you all. How can you ever forget the Chip N' Dale's sketch with Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley auditioning to be dancers?

There was one from way back - Strother Martin was the guest host, and it was a take-off on Cool Hand Luke. Instead of a Georgia prison road gang, he was the 'boss' of a French language camp, and Bill Murray took a beatin' for not speaking French - I'm not doing it justice, but it was f'n hilarious. If anybody can find a link, please post it.
