I've hiked a number of these falls, many do not qualify as easy. Running has got to be super difficult. But the scenery, regardless of the weather you'll encounter at that time of year, is stunning. I love Oregon.

Yup, planning to do the Gorge Waterfalls 50k this year. After watching that video from Ginger Runner last year I just had to sign up. I'm volunteering for the 100k so I was able to bypass the lottery. I'm soooo looking forward to this race !

Leadman was going to be my only road Tri this year -mainly doing trail runs and mtn biking this year.

Still bummed it isn't happening.

I want to do it, but I have no business anywhere near a 50K trail race right now...

So, is there any more info on what Ironman plans to do with the Leadman series? Does anyone in the Slowtwitch universe have insight into this? I would have expected to see some acknowledgement from WTC by now but nothing so far.

I'm glad I did it last year then. The first time I raced anything other than a sprint; it sure kicked my rear end but I was hoping to go back for some more this year.

They killed of the Marquee half distance this year, only Olympic. So freaking bummed out as that made for an easy spring half for me.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, PCT was held at Cultus, and one year, some other really frigid alpine lake up there too. I remember snow still clinging to shores one year. And riding up Bach with 5 feet of snow on the sides of the highway.

I haven't done PCT, but those conditions were what made Leadman "Epic", but maybe those conditions were its undoing.

Crescent Lake was that other really frigid alpine lake....brings back memories :)

I just saw this weekend in Triathlete Mag this month in a page on Bend, Or that the Leadman Tri was changing to a 70.3 as a side note.
