His name is Roger Ackerman. He was a wonderful man who participated in triathlons and ultras. He was the sponsorship director for the Hardrock Hundred Endurance Run. Most of all, he was a really neat guy. I was glad to know him, and I will miss his presence in Silverton, CO next summer. Thank you to all who tried to help him.

I see your point. But I did not know or have access to his personal info yesterday at all. I actually didn't know his name until the press release this morning.

All I can see on the CAD system at work are the notes that the dispatcher puts in. No personal info

Also, I am sure if it was a HIPPA violation to see that info then somebody that makes ALOT more money than I do would have pulled the plug on the whole CAD system because of the violation possibilty

It's really no different than someone listening to a police scanner

But this isn't whats important.

Whats important is that someone lost their life doing this race and a family will be deeply affected
Umm regardless if intent it is a violation. If I were you I would delete ASAP. People have lost jobs/license for less blatant offenses.

My condolences. We will keep his family in our prayers.

Ummm....this had nothing to do with being prepared for the swim. He had a cardiac emergency. So instead of promoting your website link....read what happened first. How about "be prepared to read information before posting"?

Per this article, http://es.pn/10vK8Ku, her post is relevant to the topic...a lot of swim deaths may be related to cardiac events, but they may be preventable with a warm up.

Yes, before the swim one should warm up. But one does not have to do this swimming. For cold water races, no way do I warm up via the swim anymore. I will run, jog, do jumping jacks, etc.
all of which get my heart rate up. So anyone who does exercising without a warm up, whether it is swimming, biking or running, can be asking for trouble.
