Do they have an open swim session on the course the day before the race? If so, what time?

There is no official open swim, however, you can swim there anytime. Last year just about any time we wandered over to Monona Terrace there were folks in the water, including at about 7pm the night before the race.

Best time is from 7-9am before the sun rises and the snakes move closer to the shore and top of the water. Plus its all about specificity right?

We had to wrestle one of our swimmers away from one of the larger, more aggressive snakes just this morning. Be careful out there folks.

IMTX has one. My memory is it was 8:00 to 10:00 the day before the race. Strictly forbidden otherwise. Pretty crowded, but well structured. We all wanted to see just how warm it was. (Pretty warm!)

Regardless of time of day, rule of thumb is it takes at least 20 bodies splashing around closely to keep the snakes away. Any less than that and they get much more curious. Just saying. Splash lots.
