If you paid close attention, the cab frame and the body panels are aluminum. The chassis is primarily steel with the exception of a lone aluminum cross member. Fatigue isn't a concern in designing a cab because, in theory, it should be a one time use thing (passive safety in the event of a crash).
Yes, aluminum can be safely used in a bike. But if you're going to bury something under a plastic fairing where you won't be able to inspect it, just use steel. Easier to weld to boot.
With all of that said, I highly doubt this is Flo's project. The tooling for such a bike would be way too expensive.
