I was just about to post the same thing. This is very big of them.

Most impressive.

I have to say, that between this and the rescinding of the IM Access program, it really does seem like they're trying to make it right. Number one rule of customer service: treat them like gold.

Nice call, WTC.

I guess that is one way to take an event from a promoter.

Very impressed. Miami by all accounts was a CF, but I never expected them to do this. Free entry into a 70.3 event in 2011. Wow!

Im glad to see they are making decisions like that. Hopefully this is string of them making good decisions, and isnt just them recognizing they had us pissed off once this week.

You don't have to like what I say but you should respect my right to say them and I'll do the same to you.

Great response by WTC. It makes perfect business sense of course, so its not like they did it out of love:). Gives them a 2nd chance at a bunch of consumers who were pissed off enough to never do a WTC event again.

Agreed, instead of impressive, read my response as brilliant.

Said it before and will say it again...if they sold stock, I would buy it. Kind of like Starbucks or McDs. You may not like the food, but you gotta give them props for knowing how money gets printed.

Agreed.

I've met a lot of the folks at WTC--they are good people. All of them trying to do a good job in their job. In many cases they have an absolute passion for the sport as well--much more so than the people in all of the fine companies I have worked with over the years.

I think having a strong entity driving the sport of triathlon is a real plus. I'm comfortable with the WTC being that (or one of) entity.

They'll make mistakes--like all of us. I really respect this response to what sounded like a less than ideal race in Miami. I pity those who find fault in their response. Life is short--this is a good thing--give them their due.

Bravo WTC!!!!

I agree Bryan. Without a doubt, some people will still be unhappy with WTC no matter what they do. This move is just as much aimed at people who didn't race Miami 70.3, but were losing faith in WTC.

It's a smart business move (likely). But again there will still be people hating on WTC. Interesting stuff!

Didn't WTC initially refer all complaints to the RD of Miami 70.3?

Probably won't cost them much money. I doubt the vast majority of people will even plan to do another HIM next year. Granted, I have no statistics on this, but I'd be willing to bet the majority are one or few-timers.

Anyone have stats on repeat HIM and IM distance athletes?
