Good on-line coach for hire?

I am an age grouper who has raced Kona in 2009 and 2010 and after having a child in 2010 focused on half Ironaman distance and went to Vegas World Championships in 2011 and 2012.

When I first got into triathlon, I joined a tri club and would regulary attend the workouts. In 2009 I decided to drop the club training and start training on my own with my friends.

I am currently thinking of pursuing an on-line coach and am a little overwhelmed by how many are out there, just looking for a good on-line program that I can follow that takes into account my full time day job and my goal races for the season, all of course at a reasonable price.

Thanks for any input.

I second MarkyV... I work full-time and have a wife + 4 kids (6-19) and travel every week. Mark is really into the details of my specific program and lifestyle and adjust the schedule accordingly. He's a coach that is interest in my success both sport wise and personally. I would never leave!

I'll recommend Ryan Borger. I've been coached by him for almost exactly 1 year, and it's been great! Super knowledgable, responsive, awesome workouts. He's located in Denver, I'm in Calgary and no issues with that. He's always available by email, text, phone etc. if I need to chat.

Not specific to your thread, but I'm impressed by the seemingly increasing number of competent e-coaches... breath of fresh air from even a year ago when shill central caused many eye rolls.

I'll third MarkyV. Dude's fantastic.

OK, I'll Play.

X4 on Kurt. Great Guy, easy to talk to and super knowledgable. I've had 2 other coaches in the past that knew their stuff but weren't as "invested" in their athletes as Kurt. He just legitimately seems to care about the folks he coaches.

I think that you'll find one commonality among the best of the coaches recommended here though: they have no/very limited availability. A great deal of the coaches that have the bandwith to take on new clients are not necessarily the ones that you'd want.

Both myself and my wife use MarkyV, and have seen great improvements. Plus, we have sweet training camps.

And it is not purely online. We talk to him when we need to, but that is really up to us.

another vote here for MarkyV :)

The dude knows his stuff, and appreciates the collaboration and art behind coaching in addition to the science. He takes a very holistic and individualized approach and is very invested in his athletes. If you are the type of person who is driven by improvement and results I would highly recommend talking with him!

He has a following of very loyal 'minions' for a reason. :)

I always find things like this ironic - and you're right.

They all used to say 'online .... mehhh...that's just not coaching'.

I guess the recession really is the great leveler...

All the names so far have been awesome. I would also through in Mike Plumb (tripower.org). His credentials are on his website; I think I'm going on my 4th year with him and could not be happier.
