train in 60F but race in 87F
I'm in NYC where the temps have been see-sawing all over the thermometer 45F one day, 70F the next. On averge, I've been training in 60-ish degree weather. I'm going to St. As's where the everage temp is mid to high 80's.

I won't really have time to acclimate so aside from hydrating as much as possible, what other suggestions could you give a clydesdale that may end up over-heating, in close to 90F weather?

Any sports drink that helps the heavier athletes?
Foods to avoid prior to race?
Personal experience?
etc.

Thanks for any advice.

You WILL be racing at a slower pace than you are used to at the 60 deg temperature. Don't let that get you down. More heat = more stress. Make sure you stay hydrated on the bike so you don't get behind the curve on the run.
