If planning to use ftp test results to set power output for an upcoming race (pacing), how close to the actual event should the last test take place in order for an accurate race time ftp to be calculated? I tested at the beginning of a 12 week plan and then again after 6 weeks. Should I test again?

Trainer road has me do every 4 weeks. Seems reasonable to set final power 4 weeks out.. you won't gain much in the last few weeks and the taper..
