I am 46 y.o. triathlete with recurrent calf tears.Former college runner,long running background.Have been to many physical therapists,orthopedists and podiatrist.Have orthotics,unable to wean off.Any advice onrecurrent calf injury?

I've had limited success using the "Calf Heart Attack" method of recovery, although I spend 2 weeks on step #4 (vice one) and I don't use the stick on my calf until after I'm done with step #4. I use my thumb for gentle massage early on. Don't dig or stretch too much early on or the injury gets worse. I've recently re-injured my calf doing calf strengthening exercises even after 3 months after recovery, so be careful. This one takes awhile to heal.

I had a year + of calf issues, due to fascia scar tissue that would not break up. I would recommend you find a chiro who does Graston technique. If you can stand the pain of the procedure, it will do wonders for you. Because of that, my first race back after 2 years off resulted in a podium finish.
