Zwift's equivalent to TrainerRoad's Sweet Spot Base I and II
Quote | Reply
I have read many good reviews of TrainerRoad's Sweet Spot Base I and II workouts. I am a recent Zwift subscriber and am curious which Zwift workout(s) are equivalent to these TrainerRoad workouts. (FWIW, I don't really want to subscribe to both services and I do enjoy an occasional group ride on Zwift.)

Thanks!

They have 3 different SST workouts of varying lengths. They're listed under "Less than an hour to burn", "60-90 minutes to burn" and "90+ minutes to burn".

You can also create your own. The shortest SST workout has 4x blocks of 5min each zone 3 and zone 4. I made my own with 5x blocks with a 3 minute rest after the 3rd set. Works out to just over an hour with warmup and cool down which works for my schedule.

Here's a list of the workouts:

Ah! Thanks, chriselam. I didn't know the SST abbreviation.

Thanks for posting that - it looks a cool record of whats on zwift.

Any user feedback on the plans?

I did the 6wk FTP builder a few times last year, as a beginner it worked well (kickr measured FTP went from 200 to 300W)

However the sweet spot/threshold intervals are pretty short, occasionally there's a 15min between 80 & 100% but often it's 4 or 5 mins then some recovery.

I'm going to move onto 2x20's and longer intervals this year, with some bestbikesplit race power sims thrown in (it'll dump a .zwo for Zwift to read).
