In a perfect world, one would not do more than 25 miles in a year on the treadmill!

I can stand about 5 minutes on a treadmill, so I guess less than a mile. I run outside in ANY weather.

4mins, then I decided -10deg was warm enough to run outside.

3 hours; the display is broken on the treadmill but I eatimate over 20 miles, maybe 21. I watched 4 episodes of Desperate Housewives on the Tivo. It passed the time pretty nicely.

Good thing you don't live in a perfect world ;-)

1;20 or 14 miles which ever comes last for me.

I did 20 at the gym once.

If there is no fan directly in front or above, I can't do more than about 45 minutes b/c my shirt gets so saturated that sweat starts flying off and onto the people next to me.

I agree with that. But It was pouring down raining yesterday. I'm just not going to run in a rainstorm. I have but it f&8cks up my shoes, and socks. Its still doing it right now.

I ran about 12 on it and I was just wondering if I had a good fan and water and food, how long I could go on a zero incline. I didn't have a fan, and I think if I had one I could go quite long on one of those. I think it would be much longer and easier than outside, obviously because of all of the different factors.

Its interesting to watch others come and go on the machine next to you. It seems most people run about 2 miles TOPS, and do wierd shit like jacking it up to 8-9 MPH, and then run that for about 300 yards and start fidgeting with the controls, bring it down to 6 MPH and run a mile and stop. I watched many people run on these things but got the impression none of them could actually settle on a correct MPH.

Dude how do you get people to run next to you. I always walk up to my favorite TM or the ones next to it, hop on then turn to the person on my favorite treadmill and ask them to pull myfinger. I've been doing it so long, you can tell the new members.

I varied the speed and incline to keep from getting bored.

I'll tell you this: my muscles and joints felt much better than they normally would after a run of that length.

I've never run on a treadmill, so I guess 0. (Unless you count the moving walkway at the airport when I was late for a flight)

Hmmm, when it's 115 outside, the treadmill is a nice alternative. Also I do almost all my threshold and faster paced runs on it, to better control the workout.

I figure that's what my previous pair of shoes is for. Once you get wet, you can't get any wetter...

I have never seen a gym treadmill running faster than 6 min/miles, so you probably did at least 1:24!

Some go up to 12.5 mph, I know I ran a 5 minute mile on one once without flying off the back.

My longest run on a treadmill that I can remember is 10 miles.

They have some tread mills at my health club that are not one continuous band but separate segments. Runs much more like a track and I've had it down to 5:30 before, I think it goes faster but it just gets a little sketchy running that fast on a treadmill watching soaps.

Longest run I've done is around 10 mile, much prefer suffering outside what ever the conditions.
