There is the obligatory 10% host tip, but other than that you can put your purse away and just enjoy the weekend!!! And don't forget to tip your bartender too! (-;

We reimburse Monty for the use of his swim punch card (a few $$), we contribute something new or lightly used to the Womens gift exchange, and sometimes we go into town for local cuisine (last year it was date shakes and tacos). You can easily get by with about $20 cash (plus tipping the host ;) ).

Isn't that pretty much what fit workshops are :-)

Hi all -

I got some bad news on my knee that pretty much means I won't be doing much, if any, running during camp. I have no cartilage left under my kneecap and until I can get my leg/hip strength up I really won't be running.

I haven't been on a bike in 6 years and unless I can swim every day I won't be doing training. I don't think anyone will be up for a long walk in the woods.

If there is a waiting list I'll step aside so someone who will actually train can come.

I would be sad not to see you, Jen -- and you know that I always end up walking most of the Punchbowl run, so I would be more than happy to go on a long walk with you at least one day, and to swim many days. I'd also be glad to lend you my road bike, if you want to do a little cycling on 650 wheels.

Jen, I don't know you (don't know anyone!) and am sorry to hear about your knee. I'd be happy to go for a walk. I tore a ligament in my foot this past fall and am just starting a little bit of running now. So walking long sounds good. :-)
Also when I decided to come I was hoping to do some longer bikes - but I don't know how long they'll be considering I haven't ridden outside since December!! Too cold/snowy here in northeast. Been doing lots of indoor riding but...
Well, we shall see, I'm sure it will all be great and I am sooooo looking forward to this!

Oh PS I'm gonna be in LA Wednesday and would love to carpool. Flying out Sunday night.

I'll be happy to schlep to Palmdale for a daily swim! Having said that, I'm stuck with coming in Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday night. My transfer to Laguna from Vegas is effective April 1 and I'll be busy getting ready for the Grand Opening April 24.

Hey Monty, are there any small bike frames around there I could possibly use or should I make arrangements to ship mine out? Thank you!! :)

Seh, there aren't usually small frames, though there are a couple of smaller women, me being one, who have more than one bike that they bring up to camp. I will be bringing both my road and tri bikes , both 48s.

We only have a couple small bikes, in the 51/52range, but as someone else pointed out, many of the local womens bring up extra small bikes, so you should be good to go leaving your steed at home. Maybe touch base and reserve one of those 48;s..

I'll bring both my tri bike and an extra road bike in size 48, so you won't be without wheels for at least Saturday and Sunday.

Hi!
I would love to use one of the loaner 51 or 52 bikes if at all possible/available.... I'm 5'7" and while it's totally generous of the local womens to bring smaller bikes (48) I think that is too small for me. Unless anyone has an extra 51-52 bike they could lend me?
Thanks!!

Hey Mindy, let Cathy know, i think she is making a list of what everyone wants to ride. And you should be fine, you probably could fit on anything up to 54 i would guess, just need a shorter stem, which we have plenty of here. Assuming of course you have long legs like most the womens, usually gals your height have the same leg length as me at 5'10"!!

Hi Cathy
As Monty just suggested, I'm writing to request a "loaner" bike. I might have actually done that already but can't remember! :-)
51-52 perfect, or even up to a 54 probably fine as we can put a shorter stem on the 53/54 if needed.
Thanks!!! I am sooo looking forward to this!

Thanks done!!

And I'm adding this too now in hopes others see it... Not sure exactly who to ask about thus, you or Cathy? Or wait til there?
In addition to all this swim/bike/run stuff, I'm an actress/playwright. I'm presently working on a one-person play about Ironman training. (I'm performing some of it at a theatre here in NYC next week!).
IF there were interest, I'd be happy to do a reading of some of it one night - in fact, would love to. (Very informally. I promise it is entertaining! And won't be too long - 30 minutes max!
I'd actually love feedback on it! So far only my theatre pals have heard it.
See you soon!

Might cut into the womens porn time, but i'm sure they could throttle it back long enough for us to see some of your show. And by porn, i mean the old tri videos of me that i make them watch every year..(-;

CRAP! Working 10-12 hours/day right now which sucks. But will pay for my new bike...

Email me your arrival and departure days and time, and airport. Also, if you may need a bike to ride and any dietary considerations.

Gracias.
