Damn. They looked so confident at the start. Lifting those bikes is pretty crazy.

Actually seeing the guys giving up even trying to cycle into the headwind is something I thought I would never see

Did 180km then an hour's run off the bike on Sunday here in the lower north island of NZ. It was absolutely brutal. We get strong winds here, but this was relentless. Sometimes it's absolutely soul destroying.

wow! i just got back from a 2hr ride with my husband- i swear we had headwind both ways (out and back) but after watching that video i have No Complaints.! :) thnaks!

Lol. At first I couldn't understand why they were just standing around not really moving.. then I saw a guy randomly fall down! Did the call off the race?

Yes the race was cancelled. You can see the commissaires wave off the race later in the video. Even motorbikes fell down
