Where to Buy Ironman Perform Bottles?
Does anyone know where I can buy some? I've scoured the Internet and ST. the few places that once stocked it are out.

I want to train as if living off the IM course. Several people have said that the pre-made bottled Perform was much different then the powdered form they trained with. So I really want to find the bottles and not waste my time with the powder.

Just get the powdered kind. I used it for the same reason as you to train for IM Canada last yr and could not tell the difference. Plus if and when you do find some bottles, they are going to cost a SH*T ton more than the powder and if you are going to be using that exclusively your going to go through A LOT of it.

I am about 99.5% sure that you can not get it anywhere. There are two different ingredients in the bottle (I believe). Both of which I don't know what they do. That being said, I drink a lot of perform for training (2.5-3 bottles an hour). Have yet to ever have a problem during a race. Always mix the bottles full strength and you won't have a problem. I think the bottles are more orangish flavored.

Volunteer at a run/bike aid station at a WTC half or full event. Open cases of product does not go back on the truck you have access to some product then that is going in a dumpster if its not gone.

The stopped selling the RTD bottles almost three years ago. You will not find them on sale anywhere. The RTD bottles used at IM races are specially made for the races.

I'm one of the folks who found what was on course was significantly different from mixing the powder. A few weeks ago I sent an email to the Powerbar support and got the following response:

Hi Scott,

Thank you for contacting PowerBar®. We started PowerBar® to help athletes reach their goals by providing nutrition tools for optimum athletic performance. PowerBar® has been the leader in sports nutrition since 1986 and we want to continue to help athletes perform better by providing the fuel to push through boundaries, to see what they're made of.

PowerBar® Perform sports drink in the ready-to-drink bottles is available only on Ironman courses. This product is not available for retail purchase. For Ironman athletes training for an upcoming event, we recommend the powdered PowerBar® Perform sports drink mix.

We have forwarded your comments to our quality assurance team about the differences you noted between the drink provided on course and the powdered sports drink mix.

Again, our thanks for your interest in PowerBar®. Our staff of specialists is available to answer your questions by calling weekdays 8 am to 8 pm EST at

Search Jordan Rapp's comments (I think it was Jordan) who already went through this.

I recall the thread, but didn't believe there was ever a resolution as to why on course Perform had a different texture and nasty taste when compared to mixing the powder according to the instructions.
