WANTED: Luc Van Lierde Photos
If anyone in was in Kona to get race-day pictures of LVL, or finds any good links on the web, please let me know.

I've been a huge fan since the beginning, and he is still my favorite!

Any help would be appreciated!

I was very happy to see him come in top 20.. his swimming and running form (esp from the 90's) was beautiful.

Thanks for the pic. You seem like you've followed him pretty closely, too (weren't you hoping for top-30?)

I read this year prior to the race that an infection actually ate away a portion of his Achilles tendon. If that's accurate, I had never heard it before. I also heard that it flared up prior to the race this year and he had gone 14 days with no running prior to race day.

I hope the results this year give him the confidence to come back another couple times... hopefully at 100%!

I told a buddy of mine that top 30 would be cool for Luke. I was happily surprised to see top 20! If he does retire now he can do so with a nice, respectable finish in his pocket. Didn't hear about the achilles thing.. eww. I still play the tapes of him swimming, just such relaxed, effortless form.

Thanks, OC! Those are awesome! Did you get any of him on the run?

Terrific shots!

Interesting bar end shifter set up that Luc has in the pics.
I've never seen them set up like that.

What do you mean. His barend shifters are at the tips of the aerobars, like 99.9% of the competitors.

They (the shifters) are mounted sideways. Not up or down.

usually shifter levers are set up to be pulled up or down, Luc's set up is "in" or "out".

Yeah, it's what Kubrik would call "the ol' in and out"...
