Does anyone know if this stuff may be available at any of the booths in the Ironman Village and the expo in IMFL this week?

My LBS had a hard time getting it in because so much was being sent to Hawaii and Florida for the expo.

I just got a bottle here in México. I am surprised it is not readily available at the States.

Does it work for clinchers as well as tubies? If so, it seems like it would be easier/lighter/quicker for use during a race

I got two from All3Sports several weeks ago. Haven't used them yet.
They are fairly large, I haven't figured out how to carry them on a race.

Yeah, it's a great bike but the engine needs work.

I recently tried to get some out here in SoCal--no dice. Most shops didn't have a clue what it was. I called Tom Demerly and had mine (2 actually) in a few days. I taped one to my Softride beam, behind the saddle and carried it for the SOMA half iron last weekend.

Try him. He had a bunch 2 weeks ago.

I think it's
www.bikesportmichigan.com to get the phone #.

Punters...

YoYo has gotten his grubby mits on some of this stuff.

Yes it works with tubulars, better than clinchers in fact.

YoYo's only concern is that the unique valve on the cannister may not marry-up if you are using valve extenders on deep carbon rims, or a valve adaptor on a disc.

I am racing this weekend, so in the name of science YoYo will be sacrificing one of these cans to figure out if it can in fact be used with a valve extender.

Coz if it doesnt work i'm ffaaarrrkked.....

So all of these people have it... but has anyone used it in a race? Would you carry this instead of an extra tubular tire & co2's?

yes that is correct. The cannister sprays a foam rubber substance to seal any puncture and also infaltes the tube to approx 95psi....

They are the size of a small/womens deodorant can...

My understanding is that it will seal and inflate the tire to 94lb, which should be quite adequate to get you going. I would guess that you can top it up later, when the sealant has 'set.'

there were several reviews mentioned on ST, one was by Tom Demerly, who sacrificed a tubie in the name of science, much to the chagrin of PETTT (people for the ethical treatment of tubular tires).

It works on my extenders.

Are the just the shim-type screw on extenders? or are they valve extenders that actually have a valve nipple on them ?

I've used it unsuccessfully on a clincher. My report is here:

They're just a hollow tube of metal, no nipple. You need to make sure they're on tight though so they don't leak.

Dave?

I forgot you guys were going to be there. I think the local crew from here is meeting at the swim on Friday at like 9am for a group picture or something. If you guys are around there on Friday, I'll keep an eye out. And if you find some of that Pit Stop stuff somewhere, let me know. I'll gladly buy 2 cans from you.

See you out there.

I guess I haven't thought this whole thing through. Maybe I should carry AfterBite or something.
