Triathlon Survey Results are UP!!

Hey Gang,

I finally managed to get the first results from the tri survey up.

I centered the first discussion around the question:

"What does it take to complete your first Ironman?"

You will need to enter the email that you used to submit the survey and your first name in order to view the results.

Go to http://www.triathlontrainingsurvey.net/login2.html to view the results for this first topic

I will add one new page each week on a different discussion topic. Next week will be "What does it take to get a Kona slot?"

For a complete list of the discussion topics and to view some stats on "the profile of a typical slowtwitcher", go to:

Incidentally, for those who haven't completed the survey, I'm going to keep the main survey pages on line at last through January, in an effort to broaden the sample.

Very cool. I can't wait to see the results. Are you doing this for some type of school project or are you really just the ultimate tri geek?

Regretfully no, I don't have a legitimate reason for doing this. I guess it's a combination of too much time on my hands and a certain geek gene. :-)

I've never done an ironman but would like to see the data from the first and second when it becomes available is there a way to bypass the questionaire since completing one would not help out your information since i haven't done one yet.

I used your link and I thought I was looking at my personal results.

I am Male, 35, Engineer, 5'11", 169lbs, Married, etc. The only things you got wrong were my IM time(11:45) and the fact I have no kids ;-)

I have never in my life been EXACTLY AVERAGE. Kind of depressing that there are tons of me flailing in the water and dogging it on the run.

Good job. I am eager to see the answer to those 9 questions.

Swim - Bike - Run the rest is just clothing changes.

Fixed.

If you go to:

you will see a general discussion of the sample and the topics to be investigated. If you click on the first topic, "What does it take to complete my first IM?" you will be taken to a sign-in screen. Enter your email and first name and (providing you have completed a survey and your email is on the database), you will be taken to a discussion of my findings for that topic.

If you have any problems in displaying the pages, please contact me at: alan@triathlontrainingsurvey.net

Honestly, the thanks goes to you guys. I am truly amazed how many people were willing to spend a good hour or so filling out a survey for the benefit of my curiosity and that of fellow slowtwitchers.
