He doesn't give gret detail but it's a major A list. He does discuss the distances he and Lance had discussed before Lance signed with WTC I think it was 2k 64k 14k. Love listening to interviews with Macca, such a competitor and fan at the same time.

No. I don't think they've finalized it yet. One example of something that was being thrown around for the TT was that we - the triathletes - would get to do a two or three (or more) TTT, whereas it'd be solo for the cyclists. So, for example, Lieto + Macca (and maybe some other guys as well) TTT vs. Fabian.

No one is expecting us to go head-to-head straight up. So it should be fun. I imagine some of the things will be too much in our favor and others not enough. Should be fun.

And there are some particulars with regards to event coverage that are going to make it really, really cool regardless of how things unfold. But that's still hush-hush...

I can't think of anything that I would enjoy more than Rapp and Macca chasing down Fabian and Boonen on the run in some sort of duathlon format.

Something like 40k TTT -- 2 mile run for the cyclists and a 35k TTT -- 3 mile run for the triathletes.

What about a cyclocross type race with less mud and dirt. Make some of the run sections like a 1/4mi with hills.

I am very curious to see how they're going to level this playing field, if all of the events are cycling only.

In a contest between specialists vs. non-specialists, how can this be all that close (unless someone is not taking it seriously)?

It sounds like its a road race, ttt and crit....

Rapp? Is that the case here?

On top of the Triathlete/Cyclist showdown, Macca sounds like he pretty much has his mind set on racing Kona this year... especially if/when he doesn't make the Olympics. There was a lot of we (him + Crowie) vs. them (Lance + Lieto) speculation going on if you ask me, too much for him to not have made his mind up to race Kona this year. Heck, he's probably already told Specialized he's doing it. I'm sure Rappstar knows it, and just won't tell us.

The format seems to favor the cyclists, will be interesting to see!
