TriSports BTA Mount 1.1 (Zipp Vuka BTA Hybrid)
Anyone ever used this? http://www.trisports.com/...o-bta-mount-100.html

I have the Torpedo bottle and mount already. I have a Barfly for my 910. I'm thinking about getting a 510 when I get my Quarq (hurry up tax returns)

I was going to keep my Barfly or just buy the $15 Aero Mount 2.0 that Xlab has. This looks cool though. TriSports made their own part to make this hybrid BTA mount

I have put that set-up on my DA but have yet to try it outside with it full. I went that route because it looks to be the most stable in regards to the bottle and cage bouncing around. I've tried the verticle between the bars ( profile design) horizontal (x-lab torpedo mount with the velcro straps) and they bounce around too much and are hard to keep in place. This setup looks to be what I want. I'm considering adding another crossbar if it isn't rigid enough and that should do it. I'll take the weight penalty over the hassle of the bouncing bottle

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for checking out our BTA franken'kit. I have used it and invented the bracket (with the help of our mechanics) and if I could describe it in one word it would be "solid". I was tired of my bottle (and Garmin) vibrating on our bumpy roads and so were our customers. Buy it, if it doesn't work out for you send it back to us.

I'm currently using it and it's solid. I needed to move my Torpedo further back and nothing fit the bill until I put this on. It keeps everything on place, with ZERO movement. So there is no rattling like some of the other mounts do.

Will the profile design Aero HC or xlabs torpedo fit when using a gamin 1000?

I ordered two, since I have two bikes with the Zipp mount, which I love except for having to turn my bottle backwards (I need the computer mount to be forward). This looks like it will allow me to have both the computer mount forward and the bottle/cage opening forward.

I've asked Tri Sports this question and they said the Garmin 1000 will work.

Seton,

Does the BTA Mount work with a Garmin Edge 1000?

Still a work in progress, but I did something a little different. I took Just the Trisports bracket and connected it to a P-D HC Mount. I can still use my Bar-Fly mount for my 920 as the Vuka is not compatible with it. It moved the bottle closer to me and I put the hydration hose from my Shiv right next to it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just having concerns about the space between the profile designs bottle and the Garmin 1000. Do you have any pictures of the two together?

Thanks

Be aware that contrary to the Web page the mount does not work with the Speedfil A2 bottle. I tried if with a Xlab Torpedo cage and also the Speedfil Z4 cage. However it works great with the Xlab Torpedo bottle.

I'll take some pics tonight. I chopped of the front end of my mount though as I'm using a K-edge mount for my PC7 on the aero bars.

The timing of this thread is perfect as I've been looking at the XLAB torpedo system & I've seen concerns about the wobble with the velcro setup. I'm definitely going to have to look into this some more & see how it would line up on my cockpit.

Hell, it looks like you guys already have me covered with the System 2.2! My only question is if I can get that with a red torpedo cage instead of a black one? http://www.trisports.com/...mount-sytem-250.html

I had to use X-Labs bottle cage optimizer since I use a Joule which is a little longer. Was able to fit the non-insulated 24oz bottles in the front and the plastic Ozarka bottles they have at IM stations. Best part was with the Joule in front it saved the cheap plastic water bottles from coming on on bumpy downhills.

This is exactly what I was thinking of using for my Speedfil bottle and this mount with a Garmin 500. The xlab aero optimizer allows for forward or rearward adjustment up to 1.75".

Is the entire mount alumnium? Or is it a hybrid of materials? The part that holds the computer, what is it made out of? Thanks!

The reason I'm interested in this mount is the stability and the ability to move the computer mount off of the aerobar. I love my barfly but I think this is much cleaner. The XLAB computer mount is nice, but I don't like how insecure the o-ring mount method is. Should I buy this?
