The All-New Cervelo S5
Looks slow to me: https://www.cervelo.com/en-ca/road/s-series/s5

Is this old news, or is BryanD asleep at the wheel once again?

Edit: I guess this is old news. Where have I been?

I have the 2015 S5 - more stiffness was absolutely not needed!

Also, interested to see the details behind the wattage improvement. Etap and wheels are the only big changes.

I love my S5, but it looks antiquated next to a friends Madone.

A new fork with direct mount brake on the front would be a nice touch.

The big news here is just how much BryanD is slacking.

I would be shocked if that bike was even a few watts faster than the "old" S5. The only big change I see is the seat post which looks coooommmmfffyyy :)

Oh yeah? Since November 3rd, when sausskross knew about this?

Right. Didn't think so. I hope you don't drop the ball this badly in your day job.

BryanD, I'm yanking your chain. Pop a xanax or order yourself some boa Castelli gloves or something...you seem overly stressed.

Love,
Publius

he probably didnt feel the need to comment on an unchanged bike, unless you consider a paint change or new seatpost worthy of it being an 'all new' model ;-)

Why? The system works out heavier, is harder to centre and means you have to buy non standard brakes.

Cause its more aero and gimicky and thats what the market seems to want.

Strange that the stock wheels are Enve 3.4
Surely for an aero bike the 4.5s are more logical?

I agree! Really, they should just let you pick which depth you want.

I run the 6.7s on mine and wouldn't go any shallower. I know a guy that crit races on 8.9s!

I think that is a great idea! I bet a lot of people would want to pick their wheels, I know I would. Given the option, I would go really deep since I am a bigger rider, but not everyone wants that.

What's interesting that nobody is talking about is the UDI2 model comes with a Rotor 2INPOWER !

I can't think of another bike that ships stock with a power meter.

2014 P3 DI2 - RT6, CXR80, Power2Max S, 820, Fenix 3 HR. (gone)

Felt has been doing it for a couple years now.

Anyone feedback on this new S5?. I'm having to to an emergency mid-season (road) upgrade, and Felt is out of AR framesets in my size for a month. So I'm wavering between S3 and S5. S5 is a better natural fit in terms of stack. But $2200 difference in frameset price is almost real money.

The paint is different from the previous model....And the seatpost. That's it. I'd get the S3 if you're set on Cervelo. The aero difference is pretty small and is mostly the downtube/headtube junction. The S3 is much more comfortable though.

I'm not showing much stock available in S3/S5 so, be quick to make a choice...just 58 in S5 right now and 56 available in a week or so in S3.

But, as someone who loves their AR.....get a Foil. Scott has plenty of HMF frames. Catch: There's no size 58 frames.
