Swim fins that dont cut feet up

Okay, in the masters swim team, we use swim fins a lot. Last week I used them so much they cut my feet up. Made it a little tough racing today. So, I know I could put socks on, that that really does not work when they are coming on and off. So, are there any fins that are made that keep my feet in one piece?

I think the answer is swim boots - you can find them online or maybe use thick socks?

I used to be in this predicament when I swam with the masters, too, with the fins :-) and the socks cured the problem - lots of others would wear them too.

So far no one I have seen wears anything.

Did you wear socks only with the fins, or left them on for the entire practice?

We used to wear our fins for pretty much the whole practice - and I would only wear them with the fins. Our masters coach was a big advocate of super hard/fast sets and pretty much everyone wore them.

I had the same problem some years ago. The solution seems counter-intuitive, but switching to smaller sized zoomers than the manufacturer recommended fixed the problem immediately.

After going to the smaller size there was a lot less friction - the "cup" that holds the ankle stayed in place and didn't constantly saw on the skin.

This worked for me with red zoomers - I haven't used any other fins.
