Surf City half in Huntington Beach

Looks like I might run it this weekend. First race of 2015. Any pointers from anyone who ran it in the years prior? Seems to be flat and generally fast.

Next races on the schedule: none at the moment

Signed up but have to DNS due to injury. Last time I did it they ran you into the neighborhood on the way back rather than the way out. That's the only area with a hill, I guess there might be one coming back from Bolsa Chica up to HB, but I don't think it's all that big. Thats longboarder's race so he'll probably chime in

Sunday will be my 4th year for Surf City, basically flat, ~80% is run on Pacific Coast Highway. Slight down hill from the bluffs in HB down to Bolsa Chica State beach at about mile ~8? (Guessing) then a quick out and then back up ~mile 10?

They expect 20,000+ or the Half.

Great race, fun times running on PCH with no vehicles!

The other posts covered it. We run north around 2mi, Seapoint, we head inland and there is a little climbing. Then it's back to PCH for a few miles then you climb up from Bolsa to the masa and it's flat from there to the finish.

Weather is looking great.

Note there's always traffic and parking can be a hassle so leave extra time.

Train safe & smart
