I'll be racing the first road race and TT of the season. My Goal: Not be embarassed/dropped. Then it's off to hockey and beer. My girlfriend got us good tickets cause she's awesome.

I like that you put the splits in kilometers, took me a second to figure it out. I did a race this winter that marked the kilometers instead of miles. In Tennessee that's unusual but I kind of liked it. Good luck going sub-20!

Get a pair of Brooks T-4. They might be worth 10 seconds, at least you'll look fast.

Sounds like you've got a great weekend planned.

We'll see how the sub 20 goes. I've been dropping the excess weight & keeping up on the PED's.

Cheers

I'm doing the Ottawa St. Patty's 10km. I haven't done much for speed work (well my fartlek workouts are all longer then 10km) so it'll be interesting. I'm certainly fit, just not sure how fast. I'll be happy to dip under 38min, so a ways away from PB territory, but would be one of my better races in a year or two.

I'll also be doing the 10k in Ottawa. Swimming for 90mins before so it'll be more of a hard training run. Low 40's hopefully.....supposed to be a little chilly though!

No swim for me, my second event will be the Guiness beer chug at the post race brunch at The Royal Oak. I've got a 29km run on tap for sunday, so the race is enough for me.

Was the weather any better out there, we were greated by 10cm of fresh snow and nasty winds for the last 5km. It was painfully slow and slushy. I managed 13th overall and 3rd in my age group, but I ran a crappy time. I was hoping to ride my base to a sub 38min 10km, and might have in good conditions, I managed 40:06 in that mess. I couldn't get settled in until 7km into the race, then i started to move up the last 3km and really started to chase people down. Oh well, first running race in nearly a year, and a chance to get my first race in my legs. Next race will be the OBC Good Friday TT (assuming my racing licence arrives on time).
