I'm in Aruba doing a local sprint triathlon on Sunday. Rather than ship our bikes, my wife and I decided to rent whatever we could get. The guys at the Bike Shop were great an even delivered the bicycles to our hotel. I got them all adjusted and the only problem is that my right, rear shifter is in friction mode. Is there any way to get it to indexed mode?
Thanks

I didn't think that SRAM bar end shifters were capable of friction mode.
I am also unaware of such an SRAM option.
I wanna go fast!
There might be two front shifters installed on that bike.
I think the shifters might be reversed. Checking it again, the left/rear is indexed. Which way should the paddles face; in towards each other or out, away from each other. I'm not going to change it but now I think that they have it backwards.

British based countries do brakes and shifters the opposite of in the US.
Check the brakes.
You can flip the cog/sprocket on the inside of the shifter: one way is indexed, the other is not. Careful if you take it apart, there are 3 little springs inside you don't want to lose.
After a 2 hour ride this morning, it won't be a problem. I've adjusted pretty well. There won't be a whole lot of shifting on this course anyway.
