Soap to get rid of chlorine smell
Since I've been swimming more, I'm going into work more after a morning swim. I reak of chlorine all day long. I'm getting used to it but I'm sure everyone around me wonders why I wear chlorine as a cologne. What are some good soaps that will get rid of the chlorine smell after a swim? An additional bonus are soaps that will moisturize my skin as well because I get pretty bad dry skin.

Thanks.

I used the Tri-Swim products for a while and I think they helped. I'm out right now and can smell chlorine again. I believe their story is that they work by using ingredients that bond to the chlorine molecules -- in the shampoo, soap, and conditioner so that they wash off you and down the drain, and in the lotion to hold it to your skin instead of letting it into the air.

I get very dry skin, and their lotion was decent. Not the best, but it does moisturize while helping get rid of the smell as opposed to just doing one of those things.

I got some hair shampoo and conditioner from a swim shop once that worked real well for taking out the chlorine smell in my hair and I used the shampoo on my body and it did a pretty good job of taking off the smell. I am not much help though because I can not remember what it was called

Here try this soap maybe it would work

I use Soap+ (Tridoc linked to it on the Keifer website). Chlorine smell bugs the crap out of me and I have been competitively swimming since age8. I now use the soap+ and scrub well with a loofa and I never smell like chlorine.

Apparently a quick shower before swimming will help as your hair (+ skin etc) will absorb the clean shower water and take on less chlorinated water.
I shower before swimming, not for the above reason, but as the pool feels warm after walking damp from the shower.

I use Neutrogena anti-residue shampoo (http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_16.asp) to get the crap out of my hair and plain old Ivory soap. Does the trick pretty well at a reasonable cost.

To help with the clorine smell, I found that when I shower after a swim, instead of quickley washing the soap and shampoo off of my body, I move away from the shower and let the lather/shampoo soak into my skin and hair for about 1-2 minutes and then rinse and leave quickly, that it helps the smell dramtically.

That's definitely one thing I don't miss about the pools where we used to swim. Our current place uses UV light and a pretty minimal amount of chlorine to maintain the pools and it's awesome not smelling of chlorine all day...helps the swimsuits last longer too!

I use Malibu (yes, it's a shampoo, I also use it as liquid soap).

As far as dry skin, Olay has a skin moisturizer that works like conditioner (called moisturinse), put in on your skin, then rinse it off later, it helps some, I still get dry skin.

Here's a cologne that you could put on to mask the smell (j/k - but perhaps you might want to recommend it to others):

I *love* the smell of chlorine!!

I just use an everyday body wash (zest, coast, whatever) and a loofah.
Shampoo/Cond is girly stuff for highlights/chlorine.

Embrace the smell ;)

My dermatologist told me the best soap you can use for dry skin is plain old, boring Dove soap.
