Slowtwitch Road Shows
let us assume we're going to do these. we'd start in the fall, maybe november, at the earliest, and range them through the winter, into the spring. where would you like these to take place? the thread is here where we discussed these. so, we compile a list, and it would be city, retailer, and then slowtwitchers who want to help in that city.

on this last point, i don't think we would do this unless we had some local help. so, do you want to help? don't pledge help unless you really want to help! what does help mean? i don't know. partly it's to make sure everybody knows that the road show is taking place. so, tri club meetings, social media on the local level, etc. part of it would be to help be master or mistress of ceremonies on that day. maybe help arrange the food, make sure the beer truck knows where to park. so, the convention for this thread might be:

Raleigh, NC -- Inside Out Sports -- slowtwitcher; slowtwitcher
Atlanta, GA -- All3Sports -- slowtwitcher; slowtwitcher

the word "slowtwitcher" above is a placeholder for your slowtwitch user name. what i'm looking for is for you to write in the name of a metro area, and the name of the shop you think would be good, and your user name, on a line, just like the 2 lines above. or, omit the name of the retailer if you aren't sure. i'll know who the appropriate retailer is in your town.

Madison, WI -- Trek West Store or Endurance House -- ggeiger

If in fall or spring no need for beer truck....we could likely use one of the breweries for a meeting spot. Capitol, Ale Asylum, Wisco Brewing...some great suds in Madison!

Does the local retailer have to be a bike shop or could a run shop that has plenty of space, knows how to get people to events and has connection with all of the local bike shops host

it could be a run shop. however, in this case it's a different set of partners. attendees want food, beer, discounts, pros, etc., and other stuff. it requires partners. we will generally arrange that. but without bikes, that's a lot of potential partners that are Xd off the list. you and i would have to make sure we have partners (some number of your vendors) who'll want to take advantage of the opportunity. this would mostly be our job, but, it just depends on whether there are sufficient vendors to, in the aggregate, help us present a great day for your customers and our readers. i'm game to see if we can make it happen if you are.

Fleet Feet in Rochester really does have a great space. Tons of parking, huge indoor space, restaurants 50 yds away.

Rochester is easy to get to from both Syracuse and Buffalo, too.

Team up with Geneva Bicycle Center and you'd get the Finger Lakes presence, too.

Obviously winter would not be an optimal time.

I'd be willing to help out.

Scottsdale, AZ --- Tribe Multisport --- K-DUB

Willing to help in any way I can, but in full disclosure I've only been doing Tri for a year and I'm a bit of a lone wolf in training, so I don't have the networks with tri clubs, ride groups etc. that others might have. I am a regular at this shop though and I believe Scottsdale is a pretty robust market for Tri (doesn't Pedro Gomes live here now)

Thanks, I think we could draw a few hundred. Heck we have 400-600 on Saturday morning group runs.

All my footwear vendors would show and I could get 4-6 different bike shops to be on site as well.

Parking for 500, great local beer and bbq, and I can market in buffalo as well since I own a store there as well.

Just needs to be the right time of year as winter wouldn't be fun

If you do InsideOut Sports in Cary/Raleigh NC, I could help to promote it with my club. We are an hour away in Pinehurst/Southern Pines, NC. Could probably get 10-12 to make the trip.

Pink? Maybe. Maybe not. You decide.

Nashville - could likely get space in one of the many local breweries. Two big tri clubs, masters swimming and many bike racing teams. And, you know you can always crash at Casa clm. I have way better accommodations now!
