Slow Frequency Reps (CT vs. outside)
Do you get the same effect from doing SFRs (aka Big Gear reps) on the Computrainer vs outside on a hill if you hold the same watts and % grade for each? If not, what is the difference?

Edit:

Assuming you could cailibrate your CT and PT to deliver the same readings, which you probably cant, but for sake of argument, lets assume you can ......

Don't see why not. Raise your front wheel as well, to replicate actually being on a hill.

no you don't.
most of the stabilizing muscles (lower back, abs, etc) are not used much on the trainer. well, they aren't used as much as when riding outside so
there is some fatigue that is not there when on the trainer...
that said the 'I'm bored factor' largely makes up for this ;-)

thx - I recalled the answer being no, but could not remember why. Will head out and use the night lites.

Here's another one. Is there a formula for one legged wattage vs. 2 legs or is it too individual for a canned formula? Or is there a formula for what it should be? For example one leggeds at 200 watts = X watts with 2 legs (same cadence/gearing).
