Does anyone have a Plasma 3 Manual with the torque specs for all the parts? I've been looking far and wide and hvan't found jack apart from a general manual.

What part are you looking for for a torque spec?
I can check my stuff to see if I have that.

Nothing specific, would just be good to have for the future. Can't remember what i used when i first built it up last year, but i'm sure i worked off something!

I didn't find the manual. There are torque specs printed on some parts like the seat post collar.

I've done so much modification (internally routed the brake cables, added electronic, new aero bars/stem) to mine there aren't a lot of OEM parts still hanging on it

I kinda mentioned this in the thread I started re: my own bike, but wanted to find out for certain

Does anyone know if the Plasma Premium electronic frameset comes with full internal routing for the brake cable/Di2 cable?

I can tell from various pictures that the mechanical version has two holes on the right and one hole on the left of the frame, respectively for routing of derailleur housings and brake housing. It seems (from very little available pictures floating around) that the electronic only frameset has no holes on the right for derailleur housing. This would seem to suggest that the Di2 cables are routed internally via the steer tube, right?

What of the brake housing?

Hey - I bought the 2013 plasma 3 di frame last year and built it up as a 1x myself so I’m familiar with it. I’m not sure I totally understand your question though.

There are two holes in the steer tube section, one at the base of down tube that goes to the rear brake. Another hole in the back of the right chainstay that goes to the rear deralieur. Happy to take photos and email to you if you want to pm me.

Routing the cables is a pain. I don’t use di2 I just made it a mechanical -1x. So my rear brake cable enters at the head tube and then near the bottom bracket. The rear deralieur cable enters as the head tube and then the chainstay. There is a tiny door on the drive side above the bottom bracket that can be removed - I think intended to hold some of the di 2 electronics but removing it helps a little running the cables. I built my frame up and think it’s. Near impossible to run the rear cable with the bottom bracket in.

IIRC on that bike there are internal channels for all the routing.

If you want, PM your email address. I can show you where we drilled out my frame to run things internally. IIRC my mechanic, (bc let's face it, if I did this I'd have to get a new bike) said something about being able to get everything into the internal channels for the routing on my bike

I got my 100% internal by drilling the steerer not the frame. Rear brake cable goes down steerer tube, out steerer tube into frame through a hole on the back of the steerer tube. I had to drill this hole. The steerer tube on some models already has this hole .On mine there was even a sticker where it goes. The guys at Argon actually drilled it for me after their carbon specialists checked this would be OK. That carbon of that steerer tub is very thick.

Read brake cable goes down the steerer tube, through the stereer tube at the back and it 's then in the frame. It then goes into the original channel for the read brake.

Thanks to marcag, desert dude, and bigvern777 for the responses.

Unfortunately, this is all mooted now.

I somehow thought I could get a bike with higher stack by buying a Plasma Premium 3 (vs the Plasma 3 TT that I currently have). On the Plasma 3 TT, the holes in the steer tube are pre-drilled, alas my curiosity as to whether this would be true in other non Plasma 3 TT frames.

Then two people helpfully pointed out that the geometry of the Premium 3 is the same as that of the 3 TT, so effectively, I can get a higher stack only by going a size up.

out of curiosity, did your bike come with the flat stem? If it didn't, am I correct to interpret your post as saying that the steer tube was pre-drilled?

Could come in handy if I decide to switch to a size M

out of curiosity, how are you routing your Di2 and brake housing through the Alpha One bar on your Plasma

Is that a Missile Evo set up? If so, what elbow pads are those? Also, there’s a tilt option for that bar?

It is the missile set up.i found a guy in the UK (time trail forum) that machines angled spacers which are right below the extensions I got 10 degree.
It’s a great set up!
I’m using profile design deep cup, the stock missile cups are too flat.
The set up really locks my arms in.

I just picked up a used Plasma 3 (2013?) and it had 23mm tires on it. I'm wondering if anyone has been able to run wider tires than 23's, and if so, which ones. Thanks!

Interesting, I just sold one. I run 25s on it without issue.

In case you can't read it, that's a 28mm Corsa Control with 80psi in it. You need to unscrew the dropout adjusters so the wheel sits further back.
I run a 25mm up front.

This thread makes me miss the plasma I had.

Out of all the TT bikes I've owned the 2 I wish I had kept where my QR Lucero and the Scott Plasma

There's not much I don't like about mine. I've heard the newer Plasma's are stiffer. With the (lack of) power I can produce at my age, it probably doesn't matter, but I'd be interested if anyone noticed a difference when they put a one-piece bottom bracket in, like a Hambini or BBInfinite.

Noticed no difference with a Hambini BB, i.e. if the rear brake caliper is close to the rim it can rub when introducing high torque.

25mm Conti Grandprix 5000 S TR work well.

I don't know about stiffer. I came from a Specialized transition to the plasma. The Scott was a MUCH MUCH better ride. The Spec beat me up, never once felt beat up on the scott even after 130 miles.

I used to do a few rides over the same loop. The spec was faster than the lucero and the scott was faster than the specialized.
That also makes sense since the lucero was a generation younger than the transition which was a gen younger than the Plasma
