Not that I know of and I've been pretty active on this forum since I got mine the first year they were made. Does the Campy work?

I was assuming by the post by [Traffic]

http://forum.slowtwitch.com/...post=5381430#5381430

that it does, however he mentions something about the solution I don't understand:

"I'll post pictures soon, but to circumvent this I jimmy-rigged the pad on the drive side with about 5mm of spaces to allow for greater braking modulation"

When the brake is pulled the two pads come together BUT the arm on the non drive side is pull upwards (or towards the front of the bike I guess, which means it gets pulled towards the paet of the frame housing the bottom bracket). When pulled the brake arm is pulled towards the frame and before the brake is fully pulled the arm fouls the frame at that point.

In order to reduce the amount the arm has to be pulled he has added spacers to the brake pads to move the pads closer to the wheel, meaning they engage quicker, the arm is not pulled as far and the arm does not reach as far as the frame ... thereby not hitting the frame at full pull but allowing full braking.

At least that's my take on it.

Ok, I am not very technical on the bike brakes so its hard for me to understand...however I don't see the spacers or the issue in the pictures he shows in that post...

So would you consider the campagnolo will solve my problem ?

Thanks!

Also look at this post:

http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=94114&p=1302971

"I'm running a Stages on my Plasma 3 but have had to swap to the DA brake out for a TRP T925.
Theres about 5mm clearance now with the TRP - but I did have to file down a little bit of the edge of the brake arms to get it sit nicely in there. It also depends really on the width of the rim you want to run in the back but the TRP gives me a lot more flexibility..."

So he managed to make the TRP T925 work (he has photos showing it installed)....not sure what he means by " file down a little bit of the edge of the brake arms "

be careful, there is a massive difference between the TRP925R and the TRP925.1R The .1R is usually the one that allows greater clearance as the cable runs in from the side and pulls from the middle rather than simply pulling from one side.

To be honest, the brake is also shit. Especially compared to the DA. Can't you take the money from the new brake and put it towards a different PM?

He is talking about grinding the brake arms / back plate down in order to make it fit inside the Plasma frame brake cutouts. Sounds like a PIA to me.

Yes, sounds like that...maybe I should try the Campagnolo it is just $49

Powermeter is brand new and I am not from the US...was very difficult for me to get it ... I believe there must be a solution to this issue. The Campagnolo option doesn't seem so bad...what do you think ?

Thanks!

I think the brake will likely be better than the TRP. Is it the Veloce? If it clears your Stages you are good to go.

Well, this is rumoured to fit and I can't see you will get any clearance issues on the Stages. I would happily put a few bucks on this working for you.

Bringing up the 0 degree stem question again. Does anyone know what stems (e.g., Pro Missile Evo), in addition to the Ritchey stem, are compatible with the Plasma 3 premium? Please note that I run Di2 Thanks for any advice/insights?

Does anyone have a spare derailleur hanger? I bent mine during a crash and realized that it was bent a bit too late. With a stage race coming up this weekend, i'd like to have one by Friday. My shop is trying to get Scott to have it sent by two-day shipping, but it's not guaranteed. Does anyone happen to have a spare one i could purchase? I live near DC and would like the item to be either located close by (say within 2 hours driving range) or be shipped via 2-day FedEx. Obviously i'll pay for the additional shipping cost.

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Yep, but I have had stuff in two days from there before. Which means there is time to get it Friday if you get them before they close .... which they may have done by now. It was a long shot :(

Worst case scanrio, maybe you could borrow one. I would send you mine but I just sold the bike and the guy is collecting tonight. Scott are not very good at getting stuff to people .... as the flat stem would seem to inidicate. I had a warranty replacement frame and they pretty much refused to send me the matching stem.

I just got a 2011 Plasma 3, which I bought without wheels. I also got a good deal on some new Zipp 303 Firecrest clinchers but was dismayed to discover that the rear was too wide to fit!

Has anyone had a similar experience? What's the widest rim that will for sure be compatible? 21mm? 23mm? I want to be a bit more selective before I purchase more wheels. Thanks.

I have HED Jet C2 with acres of room. Too wide for the frame or the brakes?

Too wide for the brakes. I've got a sram red rear brake, just took a caliper to it and all the way open the distance between the pads is 25 mm. Guess I should have done that last week, oops. Anything with a braking surface 23mm or smaller should be fine, but a lot of newer wheels are wider than that

Zipp 303's are a waste anyway. Get a disc and something deep for the front. ;)

Can't you get a DA rear brake instead for about $60?
