He also posted pictures of a new matching helmet and bike shoe design on his facebook page this week stating "I wish I could show you more." - I think it will be a new plasma.

I have found a what i think is a cracking deal on a new 2013 premium cable gearing size M ( 50% off rrp).

I am 6ft(34" inside leg) tall coming from a Plasma 2 56cm with 100mm stem, Would the M be better than a large?

Does this frame suit a flat disc better, is there any data to support this?

I am thinking of a flat base bar with spacers for the extensions, what bars suit this frame?

how do these stack up against a P5, Trinity etc

Thanks

It looks like that Sebastian Kienle is going to ride a new Plasma at challenge Kraichgau this weekend. At least he is really hinting at it saying he is really proud to be the first one to have something new underneath him ;)

A new Plasma is overdue; definitely interested to see if Seb is on a new ride.

though i don't think i'll be selling my bike, hopefully ever, the lady is on the zaftig side of things. Comes in at slightly less than 19 lbs, which is probably 2-3 lbs more than the mass of a comparable Shiv.

Must.... Have.... Better..... picture......

On another note I just keep lookin' at the damn thing thinking I can get such a better Idea of what it really looks like without the bloody camouflage paintjob. My attention goes mostly toward that new Giant trinity looking front end with the Felt IA looking storage on the top tube? Looks more like a steering wheel lock from this angle :)

I think these are covers, which will be removed before the race. Just hiding the new frame details. Looks too massive to me to be actual part of the frame.

I hope there is some explanation as to why there is a mcdonalds happy meal stuck to the front and top tube. Hideous. It just looks bolted on too, not even part of the frame. I am guessing there is more to this story.

Does anyone know the headset bearing size? I need to get one asap, Scott won't sell direct and the LBS seems less than interested in getting an order in fast.

I've had this ordeal before and its frustrating cause things don't move along all that quickly. Anyways, since i have a plasma premium frameset i'm selling, I took the liberty to check out the headset bearing and measure its diameter to 1.5in. I assume the inner diameter would be whatever fits the plasma premiums steerer tube?

I can bust out the tech equip to measure it precisely if you need but im over getting all that out.

Hi!

I recently purchased a Scott Plasma TT 2011 frameset and built it up with Ultegra Di2 6770 components. I'll try to answer some of the Di2 related questions.

"For those of you who have the Di2 specific frame, do you know if it's possible to do the entire wiring internally?"

Yes, with the original flat stem and the PRO Missile Evo bar, wiring can be done completely internal (except for the front brake and the derailleur cables). If you'll use another aero bar, most likely at least some cables will be exposed.

"Also, where do people mount their batteries? And i presume i could also get the internally mounted battery?"

I bought a SM-BTR2 internal battery and put it into the seatpost. It works like a charm, no cables exposed and no rattling of the battery.

"Finally, has anyone here managed to put the junction box inside a flat stem?"

I tried my best but unfortunately was not successful. Neither the SM-EW90-A nor the SM-EW90-B will fit. The height would fit after grinding off some plastic elements used for strap mount of the front junction box. Yet the length including the plugged in cables will be too long for the cavity of the stem. I have the 75mm flat stem so possibly the junction box might fit into the 90mm stem.

"Otherwise I assume 300 mm is enough for the FD and Battery (to the rear junction) and 500mm is enough for the RD? Or is 450mm sufficient?"

I used the following cables:
1x 500mm RD to rear junction (450mm will be too short!)
1x 250mm FD to rear junction
1x 250mm Battery to rear junction
1x 950mm rear junction to front junction

The brifters and extension shifters have pre installed cables.

Have a look at http://www.frankbauer.net/...-neues-triathlonrad/ for more details on my build. Will post some more pictures during the next days.

Any more takers on the compact crank for the Plasma Premium? To be honest I am sick of hauling myself up some of the steeper BC climbs at a cadence of 45 or lower and wattage up towards my FTP. I also have Ironman Canada in Whistler in 5 weeks.

I was thinking compact crank with 11/12 - 27 or 11/12 - 28 or just jump straight to WiFli with an 11/32 and keep the standard crank.

I know watts are watts but there does seem to be a detrimental affect to pushing the same watts at a very low cadence than a higher one.

Thoughts on using a compact on the Premium (which ones fit) and the compact vs WiFli would be much appreciated.

Hey I've been running a mechanical plasma frameset and it had a problem and was replaced under warranty. I was just sent the new one and i'm trying to build it up full ultegra mechanical and as I was installing the cable housing for the front derailleur I noticed there was no exit for the cable anywhere on the frame near the front derailleur. Does this mean I have a di2 frame?

EDIT: crap I have a di2 frameset and no di2 components... Epic fail.

Sell mechanical components, buy DA or Ultegra Di2 … epic win.

Yeah I was just looking at the prices of the Ultegra di2 and cheapest I could find for the group was $1300 and from my understanding, if I wanted to just get the FD/shifters, I would need to invest in everything it needs to be installed as well. I probably couldn't even sell my Ultegra 6700 components for too much(definitely not on short notice) and would have to pay out of pocket for most of the di2 groupo. I've been off my TT bike for close to 2 months for the first time in years and its killin' me cause everytime I come close to getting it back up n running again something is bound to go wrong....

once you go tron, you don't go back

Shifters (you don't need the brake lever shifters) $200
Cables of all sort: $80
FD: $160
RD: $200
Controlling junction box: $135
Battery, $150 for external, slightly more expensive ($200) for internal. I say go internal and don't look back.

That seems to be the general consensus amongst most the people I know who switched to di2 also. I say this like its a bad thing which its completely the opposite but I will probably end up getting di2 Ultegra, just have to wait even longer is the bullcrap about it. Its not that I don't want Di2 but I was leaning more toward spending my money on a new powermeter next before switching to a luxurious drivetrain.

EDIT: yeehoo for post #500
