all of the climbing is in the first 35 miles of the course, about 4,000 feet I think, then its flat and fast.

did you come for the chili pepper in EP/LC last year? only one 'climb' but lots of winds and turns.

Are you running or riding it? :)

The run is downhill, so no problem.
Put a magnet in your wetsuit and it will pull you north. No one will notice.
So, it's only the ride.

I was also considering it. Have they changed the course at all in the last five years? I was surprised at the bit of highway toward the end.

I dont think they changed it, that highway section is only a few miles and its always been there as long as I can remember. If anybody here wants to ride it, we could do something cool....like ride in backwards or something like that. Im not going to pay for it anyway since ill take all my stuff with me. just a trainng ride.

So, I was thinking of riding about 4.10 or so there after looking at the climbing which is pretty mild.

If your not going to pay, why not ride it another day? The roads are always there. If you think the experience is in some way special riding it the day of the event, pay for it.

THe climbing is pretty mild, the only bad hill is heartbreak hill wich is about like the beast at st. croix. everything is pretty mellow.

laura B. is supposedly going Francois- she told me about it- I'm thinking still- she tore her hammy a few weeks ago and I need to give her a call and see where she's at- and I thought the elev. would be more than 4? there's a 5k in town same day and I've a hankering to knock down my 19:40 from the MVTC race- I can always ride a 100 afterward :)
