Removing sealant (Stan's) from rims
I have had great success with a tubeless tire setup. After about 8000km its time to change my tires. After removing the worn Hutchison Fusion 3 tires the Dura-ace C24 rims have chunks of dried gummy sealant everywhere. Does anyone have any tricks to remove the sealant?
Its especially tough to get it out of the corners of the rim (ie on the inside where the sidewall joins the rim at about a 90 degree angle)

Hi,

You can try using a stiff brush with liquid soap and water to scrub the dried sealant off. Works for me.

I remove my tires (3 sets of tubeless) every winter when I overhaul the bike, etc. I scrub the wheel beds and tires with a Scotchbrite pad and water. The dried Orange Seal comes off the rim pretty easy, but more difficult off the tire.

I remove the dried sealant from the tire because of concern about rotational balance issues.

You got 8K from your tires? I'm lucky to get 1200-1500 miles.
