well i guess what i am wanting to know is what is the point of wearing a skirt? i mean, you can run in tri shorts or else your 'speedos'? i just don't see how putting something over top of these things serves any utility apart from looks?

You're a dude, you wouldn't understand! ;-)
First, the skirt wasn't overtop of anything. It was in place of the shorts I wore for 6' on the bike.
The only reason that I wear anything is that it is comfortable. I refuse to be uncomfortable for a 4' run! And I couldn't stand to wear my bike shorts for another 4'. So, the skirt was perfect because it doesn't have a waistband that digs into your tummy (especially when your tummy is upset), you get a lot of air circulating through there, the fabric is really flowy and also dries fast, and if you have to stop to go to the bathroom, you can just pull the built-in underwear to the side - rather than taking off the whole thing. I had absolutely no chafing from the skirt, but even my best running shorts chafe some. And one added bonus is that it is easy to spot on course when everyone else is wearing black tri shorts!

Ahh yes, I was.
And that Reds Pitcher is stealing Oscar Wilde's material...when asked at customs when entering the US if he had anything to declare, Wilde responded, "nothing but my genius" ... but my alltime favorite Wilde quote, which is in the running to replace my all time favorite George Best quote is "I can resist anything, except temptation."

The fork and my knees took all of the impact. The frame was OK except for a few minor issues. I would have preferred to replace it, but with the settlement I got, that wasn't going to happen. It's a tough little bike!

"""""""""PS- You have an awesome position on your bike. Its one of the best I've seen on ST."""""""""""
You have no idea how much time went into that fitting. Paulo in NM, Lauren shooting pics with her camera in Miami and me in AZ. She sends a pic, Paulo and I talk over IM for 10 min, send her adjustments to make, she makes them and then we repeat the process. Each change was at least a 20 min process. Five hours later......
