Van Lierde is in a very nice position. Not leading a group on the bike, only 1:13 behind Frodeno, letting Kienle doing the work

His running seems a bit more laboured now, Kienle actually 30sec closer than the last time I checked.

ZONE3 - We Last Longer

German TV just showed a thermometer in the shade, over 40deg C. Must be brutal. Explosions due, surely!

And Kienle has lot two mins, gap is 8:30 now. Some performance in these temps. Also the swim without wetsuit.

Edit.. he's just walked a bit!

You could just hear someone shouting to frodo in the livestream that he is still on worldrecord pace. Apparently he needs to run a 2:41 which I don't see happening in these temp but still 46+4:08 will give a crazy fast time.

Does anyone know run splits? Maybe on the IM stream if the GPS things are working (I am watching the hr stream)

Frodos average is apperently 3:46 min/km (now at km 33) which would result in a 2:39 split UNREAL

IM Texas and Frankfurt have been extremely hot races. Do people think this will be beneficial to the race winners (Jan, Matt Hanson) or detrimental for their Kona race in Oct. I've heard super hot 140.6 races take longer to recover from.

Yep. You just don't see guys win wire-to-wire like this in championship IM races. He's got absolutely no holes in his game.

not just wire-to-wire but actually fastest swim, bike AND run plus the course record by 5 minutes.

And I bet that new Canyon will sell in spades.
