While scrolling through my facebook feed, i learned that Chase Pinkham, a pro racer and a fellow forumite, has passed away.
I first met Chase via this forum back in 2010 when i was looking to purchase a powertap wheel. Through his generosity, I was able to purchase the wheel at a significantly discounted price. It didn't take me long to realize that he was an up and coming racer, and a quick google search led me to the details of the horrific accident he suffered back in 2008.
Though I never mentioned this to him, I started rooting for him. 2010 was my first year racing a bike, and I, too, suffered a pretty serious injury, though nowhere near what Chase had to go through. I lost a few front teeth and still have visible scars from the accident, and reading about his recovery was inspirational.
I know that throughout the years, many of us here have benefited from his knowledge and generosity.
Rest in peace, Chase.
