the historic Qualicum Beach (BC Canada) Ocean mile race is off, due to a labor dispute. Real disappointment it's a fun race in a great spot.

I am 1/2 thinking of dropping some buoys, setting the course and with a "beach clock" doing it anyway for those that show up wondering what happened.

start the clock, "go" and have a sign-in sharpee marker system - initial and write-in on back on beach time.

Not sure if this would be how to pull it off and swim the mile at the same time (Logistics, oops liabilities??)
