Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere - couldn't find a thread on it. I fired up my Garmin 910 in 70.3 Timberman transition area, got a "Multiple power meters detected" alert, and never managed to get it paired with mine before having to leave transition. All that data wasted, and potentially valuable new data not acquired, grrr. 3:00 am wakeup a possible factor.
I've hunted online, and it appears the 910 needs to be paired at a distance from any other PT power meters, then shut down and restarted, and should stay paired. My problem is: Bike has to stay in transition overnight at next race (IM 70.3 Muskoka), so Garmin needs to be shut down overnight or it will probably run out of battery. When I restart, will it remain paired to my PM only? And if not, what is the protocol if I am unavoidably surrounded by other PowerTap hubs (i.e. in a locked-down transition area in the hour before race start)?. Anyone able to confirm this will work properly? Don't want to be fiddling with it at 6:00 am in the dark.
