I'm building a Felt AR1 older frame, and would like an aero or flat handlebar. Carbon? Aluminum? Maybe not top of the line, mid priced?

The control tech cougar alloy bar looks pretty awesome IMO. $120, looks like it has a solid aero profile, slight flare is kinda nice. That's definitely that bar I'd get right now if I was in the market.
I do have the Shimano pro vibe aero alloy bar on my crit bike. Nothing too special but I like it all the same. Similar price range, not quite as much aerofoil profile though.

The downside with this bar (at least the version I had, I don't know if they updated) is that the drops are an aero profile as well and the sharp trailing edge was never comfortable for me.
I'm running the ENVE SES Aero. Spendy, but nice shape and comfort.

I have a Bontrager aero aluminum compact bar 42cm. It didn't fit me (I went with a 40cm) so it's been clamped once, but never taped or riden. PM me if interested.

I hate all these aero profile road bars that only come in massively wide sizes though. Those aluminum ones are only offered in 42 and 44, which seems to be the general trend. 38 is the way to go IMO. Typically the carbon ones have more fit options, but similarly they're a lot more expensive

I loooove Zipp! just a bit pricey for me (I'm in Mexico) but I'll check if I can save for those. I really love them.

Hey! thanks for the offer, I'm in Mexico, so I wonder if that would be a problem. Also, from the picture they don't look like very flat/aero... are they?

They have internal cable routing and the clamping area is just wide enough to support clipons if needed. Not as deep as some of the carbon bars, but definitely flat/airfoil. Not sure how much it would be to ship to MX from California; guessing $25-$40...so basically doubles the cost.
Quick note, if you go carbon get a name brand. There are just too many poorly laid up carbon bars on ebay/Amazon/Aliexpress. https://www.youtube.com/...ab_channel=TraceVelo

Thank you! looks nice! I will check. My bike tech can get me Controtech and Pro components so this one is definitely in the list.
