Please Help Team RWB raise $65K for Veterans
Quote | Reply
Sorry this is a week late, but I couldn't think of a better place to ask for some help with this. Below is the "press release" with the info, the challenge runs for 60 days, so still quite a bit of time to help out.

Pretty simple:
1. Download App (Charity Miles)
2. Use App when out riding or running
3. Help Support and Raise funds for Veterans by doing what you love, working out!

This fall, BENGAY® Brand is joining Team RWB and BAND-AID® Brand to kick off the inaugural Old Glory Coast to Coast (OGC2C) Relay! A torch style hand-off race, it stretches from the VA hospital in San Francisco to Bethesda Naval Hospital in suburban Washington, DC—3,800 miles away. We’ll be carrying an American flag the entire distance over sixty days, starting September 11 and ending November 11, 2014. While the flag makes the journey from one coast to the other, BENGAY® Brand will highlight the remarkable work Veterans have done and continue to do. BENGAY® Brand enables, champions, and rewards movement—moving with attitude, with purpose, and in heroic ways. And movement is paramount for the heroic actions of America’s Veterans. They push their bodies to the limit. So BENGAY® Brand wants to honor them by celebrating the amazing feats they accomplish. The challenge is on. We just need you to join us! Our mission: virtually transfer Old Glory across the country once a day, every day for the 60 days of the OGC2C! We need 3,800 athletes, once a day, everyday for 60 days. Get involved! Every step brings us closer to reaching our donation goal of $65,000.

More Info....
Introduction:

This year we announced a partnership with Charity Miles (CM), an app that tracks your mileage (walk, run, or bike) and makes quarterly donations to your favorite nonprofit for each mile completed ($.25/mile ran, $.10/mile biked). This allows you to support your cause by simply doing what you’re already doing...staying active.
Goals of the Partnership:
1. Provide an easy to use, digital platform to track and encourage movement
2. Build team camaraderie, engagement and action by tracking your movement.
3. Harness the power of action to earn donations for TRWB through CM to power our Veteran Programs.

Did You Know:
You do not have to sign up for an event to use CM, just download the free app and turn it on while you move
You can use CM indefinitely. We may offer challenges (like the Race to Summer), but the app can always be used outside of these events CM can be used concurrent with other apps (such as Strava, Nike+ Running, RunKeeper, etc.)
Battery life on long training sessions can be challenging from a safety perspective, but you can always turn the app off mid-session
You can turn CM on to “walk”, put it in your pocket, and let it track your movement during the work day
If you forget to turn off your CM app and get in the car, it will pick up your speed and stop tracking your miles, allowing you to return to your session once out of the car
Sharing on Facebook or Twitter thanks the sponsors and lets others know how they can get involved
The sponsors provide the money that ultimately gets distributed to the charities
“Accepting the Sponsorship” means answering “YES” to the question, “Do you appreciate ‘XXX’ sponsor’s support?”; you do not have to post on social media for your miles to count CM provides unrestricted donations to charities, like Team Red, White and Blue. Unrestricted donations are donations that are not otherwise earmarked for a specific program or purpose. These kinds of revenues are important to Non-Profits (like ours) because they allow our leadership the flexibility to employ these dollars to programs that need resources or to fund emerging projects or staff needs, which support the programs.

Team RWB earned $27,000 during the Race to Summer alone! A little over 1100 Eagles logged miles for the Team consistently, that’s only 2% of our total team.
